About the B5 Fund
The B5 Fund is a $25 million Fund, financed by the Lebanese Financing facility (LFF), a multi-donor trust fund established in December 2020, and managed by the World Bank. The Fund aims to pool grant resources and strengthen the coherence and coordination of financing in support of the immediate socio-economic recovery of vulnerable people and businesses impacted by the Port of Beirut explosion of August 4, 2020.
Are You Eligible?
The B5 Fund will provide financial support to entrepreneurs and businesses that were directly damaged by the Port of Beirut Explosion (PoB).
  • Around

    4,300

Lebanese MSEs, including self-employed individuals, will benefit from the business recovery grants.
  • Businesses located within

    5 KM

Radius from the Port of Beirut
  • Businesses with

    20

or less employees registered with the NSSF (National Social Security Fund)
How It Works
Disbursement to grantees will be conditional to the completion of a screening done by MFIs and Kafalat to assess their recovery needs based on the assessments of damages status conducted by the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) immediately following the blast, and to ensure that the same expense is not financed from different sources.
Application Process
The project will adopt a zoning approach for prioritization, following the zones defined by the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Grant applications will be assessed on a first-come first-served basis and based on proximity to the blast area.

Kafalat will progressively announce, through the proper channels (including website and through participating MFIs), the time to move to the next zone.
